Campaign Announcements
Campaign Announcements let you send an update directly to all creators who have joined your campaign.
When you publish an announcement, participating creators are notified so you can quickly communicate important information without needing to contact creators individually.
When to use an announcement
Announcements are useful when there's something participating creators should know that isn't already communicated automatically by Jestr.
For example, you might send an announcement when:
- A bug affecting the game or campaign build has been fixed
- New footage, assets, or resources have been added
- A new build or update is available
- You want to clarify something creators have been asking about
- There's important news related to the campaign
- Your game reaches a major milestone and you want to thank participating creators
For example, if you add new footage midway through a campaign, updating the campaign resources makes it available — but an announcement lets creators know there's actually something new worth checking out.
Announcements vs. automatic notifications
You don't need to manually announce every change you make.
Jestr automatically notifies creators about certain important campaign changes, such as changes to campaign parameters.
Announcements are better suited for context, updates, and information that Jestr wouldn't otherwise know to communicate on your behalf.
If you're making changes to a campaign that's already running, see Adjusting Live Campaigns for more information on what creators are notified about automatically and when an announcement may be useful.
Announcements aren't guidelines
Announcements are meant to communicate with creators, not introduce new enforceable requirements.
If creators are required to follow a new rule, update your Campaign Guidelines instead. Jestr will notify participating creators when campaign guidelines change.
Don't use an announcement to introduce a requirement and then flag creators for failing to follow it.
For more information, see Campaign Guidelines.
Don't overuse announcements
Announcements notify creators directly, so use them when there's something genuinely useful for participating creators to know.
Sending too many unnecessary announcements can create notification fatigue and may even cause creators to leave the campaign.
A good rule of thumb is:
If knowing this information could meaningfully affect what a creator does next, it's probably worth announcing.
You don't need to announce every small campaign update.
Tracking announcement reads
After sending an announcement, you can see its read rate to understand how many participating creators have viewed it.
This can be particularly useful for important operational updates, such as a new build or fixed issue, where you want to understand how widely the message has been seen.
Keep in mind that an announcement being sent doesn't guarantee every creator will immediately see it. If an update materially changes campaign requirements, make sure the underlying campaign information or guidelines are updated as well.
Keep announcements useful
The best announcements are short, relevant, and actionable.
Tell creators what changed, why it matters to them, and whether they need to do anything differently.
Announcements can also be a great way to celebrate creators. If your game reaches a major sales, wishlist, or player milestone during a campaign, a quick thank-you can help creators feel connected to the momentum they're helping build.
Next step: Notifications
Announcements help you communicate out to creators. Notifications help your team stay informed about what's happening inside your campaign.
